Most people take for granted that they can just go to the supermarket when hungry or open their pantry at home and decide what to eat. But not everyone is privileged enough to have these abilities.
The other day, we received a phone call from the NYPD informing us that a Muslims Humanity group was opening a new food pantry in the Bronx. They asked me to attend the grand opening since they were expecting a lot of children to attend. It was an extremely meaningful day for us.
The next time you go food shopping or open the cabinet to take out food, please remember to be appreciative for what you have. Many others are wishing that they had the ability to do the same.
